United Airlines announced the appointment of Mike Hanna to the position of senior vice president of airport operations.

In his new role, Mr. Hanna will be responsible for leading airport operations teams across the globe.

“Mike has led from the heart, empowering employees and making strategic decisions that have continually fueled and supported United’s success,” said Jon Roitmann, the airline’s chief operating officer.

Mr. Hanna most recently served as vice president of the airline’s hub at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. He first joined the airline in 1999 and has served as general manager of its operations at three airports, and later vice president of airport operations, where he was responsible for the airline’s San Francisco and Los Angeles hubs.
