American Airlines said it was taking another look at its plan to discontinue service to two smaller cities, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Roswell, New Mexico, on Monday.

The airline had announced plans last month to end service to 15 cities including Stillwater and Roswell once the terms of a federal bailout that required the flights expires, citing the pandemic-induced decline in travel.

At the end of August, the airline said it would provisionally continue service to Roswell as it was in discussions with city and airport officials there.

The airline said Monday that it is in discussions with officials there as well as in Stillwater on the possibility of continuing flights.
