Amazon introduced a slew of new products including Luna, its new cloud-gaming subscription service, and a number of new Alexa-powered devices.

The list of new products includes a fourth generation Echo speaker, which features a new spherical design as well as three-inch woofer, dual-firing tweeters, and new Dolby processing. It also includes a built-in smart home hub with Zigbee, Bluetooth Low Energy, and Amazon Sidewalk integration.

Amazon also introduced a new Echo Dot as well as a children’s version that comes with animal face designs.

“Our homes have become our offices, our classrooms, movie theaters and more,” said David Limp, Amazon’s head of devices and services, during an event announcing the new offerings. “We believe that our homes are made better by technology – technology that you don’t have to learn and works well for everybody, whenever and wherever you are.”

The company added a new Guard Plus feature, that allows devices powered by Alexa to look for sounds such as a door opening or closing which would cause it to play the sound of a dog barking to scare off a potential intruder. In addition, the Alexa Care Hub feature allows someone to monitor a family member’s home remotely.

Finally, Amazon introduced Luna, its new cloud-gaming subscription service that runs on computers, on smartphones including on the Apple iPhone as a web app, thereby bypassing Apple’s rule on in-app purchases, and Amazon’s Fire TV.  The service starts off with approximately 50 older games.
