The search is underway for a senior United Airlines executive who has not been seen since August 6.

The executive, Jake Cefolia, 49, is the airline’s senior vice president of network sales.

“Our friend and colleague, Jake Cefolia, SVP of Worldwide Sales, was last seen Thursday evening, August 6th,” United said in a statemtn. “We’re concerned about his well-being and have been in touch with Jake’s family over the last couple of days to offer them our support.”

The search is focused on the Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve, with over 100 volunteers and several K-9 units.  Mr. Cefolia was known for running at the preserve, which features a ten-mile (16-kilometer) loop.

Mr. Cefolia was reported missing on August 8.  Police said they found his car parked at the forest preserve.  He joined the airline in 2007 and was promoted in 2018 to his current position, where is he responsible for corporate sales, travel management companies, and the airline’s overall sales program.  Previously, he served as vice president of sales for the Americas.

Before joining United, Mr. Cefolia held positions at Northwest Airlines and British Airways.
