Open the door to reveal a well thought-out interior with good-quality materials that belie the vehicle’s price point.  The SX comes standard with leatherette seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.  The buttons and switches all have a quality feel to them.

It’s hard to overlook the 10.5” central display that rises from the dashboard.  It’s more than sufficient for split-screen functionality, something the driver can configure in order to monitor various on board functions.

The front seats are comfortable and supportive and the rear seats are not only spacious enough for taller passengers, but they recline as well.  While there’s ample cargo space in the back, the rear seats fold completely flat and the cargo space can be lowered by 3” (76 mm).

There’s more than sufficient room for four adults and their assorted travel gear.  Even our taller colleagues gave their nods of approval.

Inside, there are air vents in the rear, a total of three USB ports (base models only have two), and single-zone easily operated climate control.

Kia’s 1.6-liter turbocharged four banger is paired to a responsive seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and the Dynamax all-wheel drive system.  Press the start/stop button and, once underway, the most striking thing is how responsive and balanced the steering is, providing excellent road feel.
