‘Diana,’ New Broadway Musical, To Make Debut on Netflix Before Opening on Stage

While the Great White Way is shuttered amidst the coronavirus pandemic, a new musical, ‘Diana,’ will make its premiere on the streaming service Netflix next year ahead of its opening next May.

The musical began previews in early March at the Longacre Theatre and was forced to close on March 12, along with other Broadway productions, due to the outbreak.

‘Diana, with music and lyrics by David Bryan and Joe DiPietro, open at the Longacre on May 25, 2021.  The show is based on the life of Diana, Princess of Wales. 

The Netflix production will be recorded on the stage of the Longacre without an audience and will feature the original cast, including Jeanna de Waal as Diana, Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles, Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles, and Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth.
