British Airways Puts Avios on Sale with 50% Bonus Offer

British Airways announced a sale on Avios points.

The airline is offering a 50% bonus on all purchases through September 30, 2020.

“Get an extra 50% Avios when you buy or gift Avios before 30 September 2020,“ the airline said in a statement on its website.

Avios points are extremely cost effective when redeemed for short-haul flights on both American Airlines and British Airways, although the cost of an award flight will increase if there are multiple segments as the cost of a ticket with multiple segments is based on the combined cost of each individual segment when booking via BA.

Avios are also the frequent flyer currency of Iberia, Aer Lingus, and Vueling. Until November 2011, Avios were known as Air Miles.

Gift purchases will be allowed provided the recipient of the gift has at least one Avios point in his Executive Club account.

Purchases will not count towards the normal 200,000-Avios annual purchase limit.

The offer cannot be combined with any other promotion.
