United Airlines Unveils Upgrade to App with Upgrade Notification Feature

United Airlines announced the release of version 3.0.43 of its smartphone app, adding several new features including a new notification feature that lets travelers know when a seat has been assigned or an upgrade has been processed.

To use the notification feature, the passenger must have the United app installed and sign up for day-of-travel notifications.  United will send such notifications via a text message or e-mail so either can be provided.

The notification will prompt the user to refresh the mobile boarding pass on the app and the updated information will appear.

Earlier this year, United upgraded the app with a feature that allows passengers to directly message customer service in lieu of placing a phone call

United’s app is available on both Apple iOS and Android platforms.
