Amtrak announced a free companion ticket for passengers traveling in a Roomette.

Roomettes are offered on many of the routes the nation’s rail service offers and are located in the sleeping car. Each Roomette features two seats, and they convert into upper and lower berths for sleeping.

Each roomette features a large picture window, fresh towels and linens, and a private lavatory and shower.

A sleeping car attendant is assigned to the room and provides turndown service, helps with luggage, assists with meals, and, the railroad says, “shares great stories of life on the rails.

In view of the current coronavirus pandemic, Amtrak promises that its rail service is contact free from booking to arrival.

The offer is available online through July 17, 2020 for travel from July 13 through September 30 of this year.
