Delta Air Lines announced new boarding process that is compatible with the need for social distancing.

As of Friday, Delta is boarding aircraft starting with the very last row. Gate agents are asking people to stay seated in the gate area until their row is called.

The Atlanta-based airline introduced a new, color-coded boarding process in late 2018, that was in order of the fare class purchased, starting with Delta One and continuing with Delta Premium Select and First Class, Delta Comfort+, Main Cabin, and Basic Economy.

Passengers seated in Delta One and domestic first-class cabins as well as those with higher elite status in the SkyMiles frequent-flyer program can still board whenever they wish.
