Aman Resorts International announced on Wednesday a new brand, Janu.

Janu will launch with three new hotels slated to open in 2022. The new properties will be in Al Ula, Saudi Arabia; Montenegro; and Tokyo.  The Janu property in Montenegro will offer a serviced residence program in addition to being a traditional hotel.

The new brand will “deliver harmonythrough the dynamic balance of opposites,” the company said in a statement.  “Janu stands for ‘soul,’” the hotelier said. The properties will offer an “energetic vice,” in contrast to the sanctuary that Aman branded properties offer guests.

Aman was founded in 2000 and currently has 32 properties in 20 countries including locations in Bali, Indonesia; Beijing; Bodrum, Turkey; Kyoto; Phuket, Thailand; Venice; and Tokyo.
