United Airlines said it would suspend all flights to and from China one day earlier than planned.

On Friday, the Chicago-based airline said it would suspend flights to China starting February 5, as did rival Delta Air Lines.  United said it expects to resume China operations on March 28.

Rival American Airlines suspended flights on Friday, the day it announced the move.

United and American both said they expect to continue Hong Kong service for the foreseeable future.
