Avis Budget Appoints New Chairman

Avis Budget Group announced the appointment of Bernardo Hees to the company’s board of directors on Monday. Mr. Hees was named chairman of the board and chairman of the board’s executive committee.
Hees previously served as CEO of Kraft Heinz, Burger King Worldwide Holdings, and America Latina Logisitca. He succeeds the current chairman, Leonard Coleman, who will continue as a director.
The governance chair of the company’s board, Lynn Krominga, called Hees “a proven executive who has led some of the world’s leading consumer brands.”
The new chairman invested $15 million in Avis’ stock at Friday’s closing price of $34.87 in order “to align his interests with those of all shareholders.”
