The TWA Hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport announced the opening of a rooftop ski lodge adjacent to the hotel’s rooftop pool.

The Runway Chalet has the look of a 1960s ski lodge and will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. local time.  The pool will be open as well, with a water temperature of 95° F (35° C).

The menu at the Runway Chalet includes multiple hot beverages including a hot toddy with spiced rum, hot apple cider, and a cinnamon stick, and one called the Weather Delay, made with hot chocolate and vodka and topped with marshmallows.  The dining menu at the chalet includes cheese and chocolate fondue.

In November of last year, the hotel opened one of the only ice skating rinks at a U.S. airport. The rink is located next to the hotel’s 1958 Lockheed Constellation, known as the “Connie,” which is used as a cocktail lounge.  The hotel itself is centered around the TWA Flight Center, designed by Eero Saarinen.
