Hyatt Plans 200 New Hotels in the Americas By 2022

Hyatt Hotels said it plans to open over 50 new properties in the Americas in the current year and a total of 200 new hotels by the end of 2022.

The move will increase Hyatt’s footprint in the region by 33%.

The hotelier recently opened the Thompson Washington, D.C. in the nation’s capital. The list of new hotels that will open in 2020 includes the Andaz Palm Springs in California; the Hyatt Regency Frisco, in Texas; the Grand Hyatt Nashville; the Ambassador Chicago, a Joie de Vivre Hotel; the Miraval Berkshires in New York; the Park Hyatt Toronto; and the Thompson Dallas.

The list also includes several properties that are part of Hyatt’s Destination Hotel group, including the Quirk Hotel Charlottesville and the Shay in Culver City, California, and several Hyatt Centric hotels in cities that include Alexandria, Virginia; Portland, Oregon; Minneapolis; New York City; Philadelphia;  and San Salvador, El Salvador.

Finally, Hyatt will open several hotels that are in its Unbound Collection, hotels with a “distinct character” and individual identity, including ones in Kansas City, Missouri and in Hollywood, California.
