Hundreds of flight attendants at Delta Air Lines are suing clothing company Lands’ End, contending that the uniforms it is providing to employees of the airline are causing numerous health issues.

“Since I got the new uniform, my eyes have been tearing up so much that they burn,” a Delta flight attendant told FBT. “My symptoms are not severe, but colleagues of mine have experienced far worse symptoms.”

The latest suit was filed on December 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.  The case is similar to another lawsuit filed by two Delta flight attendants in New York in May.

The Atlanta-based carrier announced the new uniforms in October 2016.  Designed by Zac Posen, they were provided to employees in customer service and ticketing as well as to Delta Sky Club agents, gate agents, flight attendants, and cockpits members.

The lawsuit filed in December seeks class-action status on behalf of 64,000 Delta employees who received the new uniforms. The action lists over 500 plaintiffs who are employees of the airline.  The suit does not, however, name Delta as a defendant.

Based in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, Lands’ End specializes in causal wear.

American Airlines announced it would use Lands’ End as its new uniform supplier in January 2018 after receiving complaints that uniforms from its previous supplier, Twin Hill, were causing allergic reactions in those wearing the garments.
