American, Hilton, Hyatt, InterContinental, Marriott, Southwest, United Earn Top Rating in LGBT Workplace Equality Index

American Airlines, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels, InterContinental Hotels Group, Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group, Marriott International, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines all earned the top rating of 100% from the Human Rights Campaign’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index, which was announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The index rates companies on their non-discrimination policies, employment benefits, their public commitment to LGBTQ equality, and what the HRC calls “responsible citizenship.”

Alaska Airlines and JetBlue Airways received a score of 90%, while Delta Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines scored 85%.

Multiple companies in the travel services sector including Airbnb, Expedia Group, Trip Advisor, Yelp, Uber Technologies also earned a 100% rating.

In the automotive sector, Hyundai, Toyota, Subaru of America, and Tesla received a score of 100%, while several more including Ford Motor Co., Nissan America, and Volkswagen Group of America earned a score of 90%.

Telecommunications companies achieving a 100% rating included AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile USA, and Verizon, while in the tech sector, top-rated companies included Adobe Systems, Apple, HP, Microsoft, and Xerox

In addition, 13 of the top 20 companies in the Fortune 500 received a score of 100, including Walmart, Exxon Mobile, Amazon, Verizon, General Electric, and JP Morgan Chase.
