American and Royal Air Maroc to Begin New Partnership in Late December

American Airlines and Royal Air Maroc announced that the start date for their codeshare partnership will be December 26, 2019.

The codeshare agreement encompasses Royal Air Maroc flights between the United States and Casablanca, onward service to Marrakech, and select flights on American in the United States. The agreement will expand to include several additional routes next year, including Royal Air Maroc flights to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire; Lagos, Nigeria; and Luanda, Angola.

The partnership will also include American’s new service linking Philadelphia with Casablanca, which launches in June 2020.

American Airlines is a founding oneworld alliance member and Royal Air Maroc is slated to become a full member of the alliance in 2020. Royal Air Maroc will be the alliance’s first member on the African continent.
