Nobu Hospitality announced the opening of a new property, the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos on the Baja California Sur peninsula.  The hotel opened with a sake ceremony and fireworks on November 13.

The sake ceremony included breaking the lid of the sake barrel with wooden mallets before serving the contents in masu cups.

The hotel has 200 guestrooms and suites, and is home to a Nobu restaurant. The property will also have a ballroom and various meeting and event rooms.

Nobu, which started with a single restaurant in New York City in 1994, now has over 17 properties. The first Nobu hotel opened within Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas in 2013 and the company now has 17 hotels and a total of 40 locations. It was founded by actor Robert De Niro, chef Nobu Matsuhisa, and movie producer Meir Teper.
