Air Canada Debuts New App for iPhone and Android
Air Canada announced the release of a version of its smartphone app, for both iOS- and Android-powered devices.
Version 5.0 brings significant new functionality to the app including interactive airport maps, upgrade and standby lists that update in real time, inbound flight tracking, downloadable boarding passes, and automatic flight notifications.
“Air Canada is focused on making travel easier and more comfortable for everyone, particularly through the use of the latest technologies,” said Mark Nast, the airline’s vice president for loyalty programs.
The indoor interactive maps are available for Toronto Pearson International, Montreal Trudeau International, and Vancouver International airports. They are intended to help guide customers to gates, WCs, restaurants, and Maple Leaf Lounges, and provide estimated walking times from one’s current location.
The app, the airline said, will provide the foundation necessary for the launch of the airline’s new frequent-flyer program in 2020.
