IMG_7218 2For travelers who use WeWork office space who wonder if they will have a workspace to go to in the future, one thing became clear on Tuesday: They will not have a phone booth.

The shared office company, which is already dealing with a failed public offering, announced that the phone booths at some of the buildings it leases might be contaminated with formaldehyde.

The soundproof phone booths provide a quiet space for a call or to participate in a meeting.

The news impacts over 2,300 phone booths.

WeWork offers shared office space in over 3,000 locations including Atlanta, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Calgary, Dallas, Lima, Munich, Miami, New York,  and Paris.

The company informed tenants that it was removing phone booths at a number of its locations in the United States and Canada due to “potentially elevated levels of formaldehyde caused by the manufacturer.”
