IMG_2563United Airlines said Thursday it plans to launch the new Bombardier CRJ550 regional jet on flights from its hub at Chicago O’Hare International Airport on October 27, 2019.

The CRJ550 is a 50-seat three-class aircraft that, according to the manufacturer, will provide an improved passenger experience.  It has more room for bags, more personal space for passengers, and a self-serve beverage and snack station.

The airline had originally planned to launch the CRJ550 in late summer.

The CRJ550 will initially operate between O’Hare and Allentown; Bentonville. Arkansas; Cedar Rapids; Cincinnati; Columbus; Des Moines; Grand Rapids; Greensboro; Harrisburg; Indianapolis; Madison, Wisconsin; Oklahoma City; Richmond, Virginia; St. Louis; and Tulsa.

The airline will announce additional CRJ550 routes in the coming weeks, it said.
