Aéroports de Montréal said that passenger traffic at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport recorded record passenger traffic in the first nine months of the year.

The airport saw 15.7 million passengers in the period from January through September, a 4.8% year-over-year increase.  International passenger traffic increased 7% in the third quarter over the same period last year, the airport authority said.

“The addition of new destinations leaving from YUL, such as Vienna and Bordeaux, and the keen interest of tourists in the charms of our city contributed to the increase in passenger traffic,” said Philippe Rainville, CEO of the airport authority.

In addition, the airport reported that the number of commercial aircraft movements for the first nine months of the year dropped by 1.2%.
