Google Maps Lets iPhone Users Report Accidents and Traffic in Real Time
Google announced a series of new features in Google Maps that are based on popular features in Waze, a navigation app also owned by Google.
The new features allows drivers using the iOS version of Google Maps app to report accidents, speed traps, and traffic jams, a feature that is already available on the Android version of the app.
“This feature has been one of our most popular on Android, and we’re excited to expand it to iOS,” the company said in announcing the update.
Google is also adding the ability to report road hazards and incidents including highway construction, lane closures, disabled vehicles, and objects such as debris on the road, to Android and iOS versions of Google Maps.
The features are rolling out globally on both platforms.
