United Airlines Releases Updated Smartphone App
United Airlines announced a significant upgrade of its smartphone app for both Apple iOS- and Android-powered devices.
Version 4.0 brings significant new functionality to the app including a completely new mobile boarding pass design. The home screen has been completely redesigned and the app will open to display the most relevant information. Once boarding has started, the app will show the boarding end time on the home screen, and it will alert the user to possible available seats in the event one becomes available.
The app will save route searches while making a booking and also show price updates in the app’s Today view. Upcoming flights will be shown in the My Trips section, and the My Profile section will contain account information and a new inbox for travel notifications.
Another enhancement is the ability to select seats on flights operated by All Nippon Airways while booking or managing a flight reservation.
The last major update to the app was Version 3.0, which was released in January of this year.
