United Flight 1554 made an unscheduled landing at Denver International Airport Wednesday night en route from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. after a female passenger was unable to exit the lavatory when thedoor failed to open.

“The lavatory door became inoperative,” the airline said in a statement Thursday.

The passenger, who was not identified but did have an Ada Quonsett moment, “was safely removed” after landing. The flight continued without incident to its original destination.

“We are reaching out to all customers onboard and the customer in the lavatory to apologize,” the airline said in its statement.
