Lufthansa to Take Over Air Canada’s Seasonal Service from Ottawa to Frankfurt

IMG_4965Star Alliance partners Lufthansa and Air Canada announced that the German flag carrier would begin to operate summer seasonal service linking Ottawa and Frankfurt and that Air Canada would discontinue its own service after this year.

The last Air Canada flight on the route will be operated on October 24, 2019. Lufthansa will take over the route on May 16, 2020 and operate it through October 24, 2020.

The Ottawa-Frankfurt service will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays using Airbus A340-300 aircraft.

The Airbus features a business-class cabin with 30 fully lie-flat seats that are 20.5” wide and extend into a bed with a length of 78”.

The aircraft also has 28 recliner seats in its premium-economy cabin. Each seat is 18” wide and has a seat pitch that ranges from 38” to 39”.
