Aeromexico Posts Drop in Traffic, Capacity for August

DSC_0328 (2)Aeromexico announced operational results for August 2019. The Mexico City-based carrier saw a small decrease in traffic and a decrease in capacity as well as in its load factor.

The airline’s total passenger traffic for the month was 3.79 billion revenue passenger kilometers, or RPKs, a decrease of 3.4% from 3.92 billion RPKs in the same month last year. On the domestic side of operations, the carrier reported a 13% decrease while the international side reported a 0.4% increase.

The carrier reported total capacity of 4.52 billion available seat kilometers, or ASKs, a 3.5% decrease from 4.68 billion ASKs in August of last year.

The airline’s combined load factor for August was 83.%, an increase of 0.1 percentage points, from 83.8% the previous August.

In addition, the airline carried 1.79 million passengers in August, a 7.7% year-over-year decrease from the prior year.
