Lufthansa announced plans to introduce two non-stop, seasonal routes to Munich next summer.

The German flag carrier will add service from Seattle and Detroit to Munich starting in 2020. The Seattle flights will operate six times per week and the Detroit, five.  Lufthansa will operate both flights with Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

The Airbus A350 can seat 293 passengers, with 48 fully lie-flat seats in business class, 21 recliner seats in premium economy, and 224 seats in economy. Lufthansa introduced that aircraft into its fleet to gradually replace the Airbus A340.  The lie-flat seats in business are 20” wide and extend into a 78” bed.

In addition to the Munich flights, Lufthansa also announced that Eurowings, its low-cost carrier subsidiary, will add season service from Phoenix and Anchorage to Frankfurt in the summer of 2020.  The Phoenix route will operate five days per week and the Anchorage, four. Eurowings will operate the flights using Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with 21 premium-economy recliner seats and 289 seats in coach.
