Marriott International announced the opening of the JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District.

The new property is located in downtown Edmonton in the ICE District, which is also known as the Edmonton Arena District, a $2.5 billion mixed use sports and entertainment district.

The 346-key hotel features rooms with a modern, sleek décor and marble bathrooms.

Guest dining options include Braven, a steakhouse; Kindred Food & Drink, an all-day establishment focusing on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients; and Alcehmy, a cocktail bar with a patio that overlooks the ICE District.  The hotel also has a lobby bar that offers cocktails and coffee.

Amenities include the Archetype fitness center, which focuses on health coaching.

The property has 22,000 square feet (2,044 square meters) of meeting and event space.  The rooms are named after well-known retired players from the Edmonton Oiler, the city’s professional hockey team.

Edmonton is the capital city of the province of Alberta and is situated on the North Saskatchewan River.
