JetBlue Records Increase in Traffic and Capacity for July 2019
JetBlue Airways announced operational results for July 2019. The carrier’s traffic and capacity were up for the month.
The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 5.01 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 5.3% from 4.76 billion RPMs in the same period last year.
JetBlue’s capacity increased by 5.6% to 5.65 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 5.35 billion ASMs in July 2018.
Meanwhile, the carrier’s passenger load factor for the month was 88.6%, down 0.3 percentage points from 88.9% last July.
The airline reported that its preliminary completion factor was 98.4% and its on-time performance was 70.2%. It also provided guidance for third quarter revenue per available seat mile, or RASM. RASM is expected to increase between 0.5% and 3.5% year over year.
