United Airlines Appoints New Sr. V.P. of Digital Technology

United Airlines announced the appointment of Jason Birnbaum to the position of senior vice president of digital technology.

Mr. Birnbaum, who has been with the airline four years, was most recently vice president for operational and employee technology.  He was responsible for the rollout of mobile devices to over 60,000 front-line employees and the development of the airline’s new ConnectionSaver technologythat will automatically identify flights that should be held for connecting passengers provided it won’t inconvenience other passengers.

Jason is uniquely qualified to further drive our digital team’s connection to the rest of our organization, resulting in both an improved operation and better overall customer experience,” said Linda Jojo, the airline’s executive vice president for technology.

In his new role, Mr. Birnbaum will continue to support technologies that affect customers and employees.
