JetBlue Traffic, Capacity Up for June

DSC_1561 (1)JetBlue Airways announced operational results for June 2019. The carrier’s traffic and capacity were up for the month.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 4.6 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 4.7% from 4.4 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

JetBlue’s capacity increased by 4.8% to 5.3 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 5.06 billion ASMs in June 2018.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s passenger load factor for the month was 86.9%, down 0.1 percentage points from 87% last June.

The airline reported that its preliminary completion factor was 99.5% and its on-time performance was 70.1%. It also updated guidance for second quarter revenue per available seat mile, or RASM. RASM is expected to increase 3.1% year over year, consistent with the prior guidance range of 2% to 4%.
