Delta Reports Jump in Traffic, Capacity for June

DSC_5025Delta Air Lines announced operational results for June 2019.

The airline carried 18.9 million passengers in the month, a record not only for the month of June but for any month in its history.

The Atlanta-based carrier’s total system traffic for the month was 22.77 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a 6.2% increase from 21.49 billion RPMs in June 2018. Domestic traffic rose 8%, and international traffic was up by 3.4%.

Total system-wide capacity for the month rose to 25.19 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 24.23 billion ASMs, a 4% increase. The airline’s domestic capacity was up 4.4%, while international capacity increased by 3.3%.

Load factor for the month was 90.4%, an increase of 1.9 percentage points.
