United Airlines said Friday it will double the frequency of its flights linking San Francisco and the Bay Area to Hong Kong starting in October.

The Chicago-based airline currently operates an early afternoon flight between the two cities. The new flight, which will commence operations on October 26, will depart San Francisco International Airport at either 10:50 p.m. or 11:05 p.m. depending on the day, arriving at Hong Kong International Airport two days hence at either 5:55 a.m. or 6:10 a.m. local time, respectively.

The new return flight will depart Hong Kong in the evening, at 10:30 p.m. and arrive at 6:50 p.m. the same day.

The airline said it is adding the flight to offer passengers “a schedule that fits their travel needs with convenient times and greater connectivity” to United’s network.

United will operate the flight with Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.
