JetBlue Posts Increase in Traffic and Capacity for May

DSC_0463JetBlue Airways announced operational results for May 2019. The carrier’s traffic and capacity were up for the month.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 4.59 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 5.7% from 4.34 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

JetBlue’s capacity increased by 5.4% to 5.34 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 5.06 billion ASMs in May 2018.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s passenger load factor for the month was 86%, up 0.2 percentage points from 85.8% last May.

The airline reported that its preliminary completion factor was 99.7% and its on-time performance was 77.6%. It also updated guidance for second quarter revenue per available seat mile, or RASM. RASM is expected to range between 2% and 4%.
