Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts announced plans for a new hotel in Minneapolis.

The hotel will feature a bar and restaurant as well as a extensive meeting and event space. In addition to a spa, the hotel will feature a pool deck that overlooks the city’s downtown district.

The 222-key Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Minneapolis will be part of the RBC Gateway project, a mixed-use complex, atop the Nicollet Mall. Rooms will feature city and Mississippi River views.

The site is still referred to as the Nicollet Hotel Block even though the 18-story hotel was razed in 1991. The name “Gateway” is intended as a nod to what was once known as the Gateway District.
