Delta Reports Record Passenger Traffic for May

IMG_4579 (1)Delta Air Lines announced operational results for May 2019. The airline carried 18.1 million passengers, a record for the month of May.

The Atlanta-based carrier’s total system traffic for the month was 21.06 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 7 %, up from 19.69 billion in May 2018. Domestic traffic rose 8.3%, while international traffic rose 5.8%.

Total system-wide capacity for the month increased, up 5.3% to 24.04 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 22.83 billion last year. The airline’s domestic capacity was up 5.5%, while international capacity rose by 4.9%.

The airline reported a system-wide load factor of 87.6%, up 1.3 percentage points from 86.3% a year ago.
