WestJet Traffic, Capacity, Load Factor Up for April

DSC_0514WestJet Airlines announced operational results for April 2019.

Passenger load factor for the Calgary-based airline for April was 87.7%, a year-over-year increase of 1.7 percentage points from 86% in April 2017.

Passenger traffic in April was 2.40 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 7% from 2.24 billion RPMs in the same period last year. Capacity also rose by 4.9% year-over-year, up to 2.73 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 2.60 billion ASMs last April.

The airline also said it had carried an additional 99,000 passengers in April, a 4.7% increase year-over-year.
