IMG_4856Ride-hailing service Uber announced several new features that allow passengers to tailor their trip before getting in the vehicle.

One new option, Quiet Mode, is intended to indicate a wish for silence and will presumably discourage chatty drivers. Other options include temperature preference (such as cool), the ability to indicate how many bags, if any, the passengers is traveling with, and the ability to request extra time without incurring a late fee. In addition, passengers will be able to speak directly with a customer service representative at the company if desired.

“With these new features and more to come, we’re excited to ensure that our riders can arrive relaxed and refreshed, wherever they’re headed,” said the company’s senior product manager, Aydin Ghajar.

The new options are only available in the United States on the company’s Uber Black and Uber Black SUV services.
