JetBlue Posts Increase in Traffic and Capacity for April

DSC_0454 (1)JetBlue Airways announced operational results for April 2019. The carrier’s traffic and capacity were up for the month.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 4.59 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 6.6% from 4.30 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

JetBlue’s capacity increased by 7.4% to 5.39 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 5.02 billion ASMs in April 2018.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s passenger load factor for the month was 85.1%, down 0.6 percentage points from 85.7% last April.

The airline reported that its preliminary completion factor was 98.6% and its on-time performance was 73.4%. It also issued guidance for second quarter revenue per available seat mile, or RASM. RASM is expected to range between 1% to 4%.
