IMG_1349As expected, Hyatt Hotels announced the formation of an as-of-now unbranded lifestyle division that places Hyatt and former Two Roads Hospitality lifestyle brands under one umbrella.

The list of brands in this group includes Andaz, Alila, Hyatt Centric, Joie de Vivre Hotels, Thompson Hotels, and tommie.

Frederic Flageat-Simon, former CEO of Two Roads Hospitality Asia, will head the division and Heather Geisler, Hyatt’s vice president of global brands, will be in charge of branding for it.

“With the introduction of a dedicated lifestyle division, we’re able to dive deeper into our guests’ preferences and further carve out Hyatt’s role in this important segment,” said Mark Vondrasek, the hotelier’s chief commercial officer.

Hyatt completed the acquisition of Two Roads in December 2018. The deal placed Hyatt in 23 additional markets.

Two Roads was formed in 2016 with the merger of Destination Hotels and Commune Hotels + Resorts. The company had management agreements for 85 properties in eight countries and Hyatt acquired the majority of those agreements.
