Delta Posts Increase in Traffic and Capacity for April

DSC_5025Delta Air Lines announced operational results for April 2019. The airline carried 16.9 million passengers in the month, a record for the month of April.

The Atlanta-based carrier’s total system traffic for the month was 19.34 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 5.9 %, up from 18.26 billion in April 2018. Domestic traffic rose 7.3%, while international traffic rose 3.5%.

Total system-wide capacity for the month increased, up 5% to 22.52 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 21.45 billion last year. The airline’s domestic capacity was up 5.3%, while international capacity rose by 4.5%.

The airline reported a system-wide load factor of 85.8%, up 0.7 percentage points from 85.1% a year ago.
