Hyatt Hotels announced the opening of the Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere hotel.

The new hotel is the company’s first Andaz in Austria and is located in the new Quartier Belvedere. Designed by architect Renzo Piano and interior designers Claudio Carbone and Gabriel Kacerovsky, it incorporates elements of Viennese art and design.

The 303-key property is comprised of two buildings connected by several bridges. Guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows and views of either the Belvedere Quartier or Schloß Belvedere. They feature a typical Vienna fishbone parquet floor completed with dark wood furniture, and tan and cream furnishings.

Dining options for guests include Eugen21, a traditional Austrian tavern offering Austrian wines such as Grüner Weltliner and Zweigelt, as well as Cyclist, which offers typical Viennese coffees including a Wiener Melange(one espresso shot served in a large coffee cup topped with steamed milk and milk foam) as well as light bites and sandwiches.

The hotel is within walking distance of Schloß Belvedere, which was built in the early 18th century for Prince Eugene of Savoy. It consists of two Baroque palaces, the Orangery, and the Palace Stables.

The Quartier Belvedere is a new district of the city near the palace that will include office buildings and apartments between the Gürtel and the Arsenalstraße directly at the Hauptbahnhof, or Central Station.
