American to Add New Destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean

IMG_2567 (1)American Airlines announced it will add two new destinations in Mexico and multiple new Caribbean routes as well as an additional flight to Chihuahua.

Daily service linking Phoenix and Chihuahua will start on December 18.

The new Mexican destinations are Huatulco and Acapulco, with twice-weekly seasonal service from Dallas to Huatulco and Acapulco will start on December 21. American will operate these flights using Embraer E175 aircraft featuring 12 first-class seats in a 1-2 configuration. Each seat is 19.9” wide and has 37” of seat pitch. The jet has 64 seats in coach.

In the Caribbean, new service to St. Kitts from Dallas/Forth Worth will start May 25.

American is also adding five new routes in December, New York-Georgetown, Guyana, which will start on December 18, and Saturday-only flights from both Dallas Fort Worth and Chicago to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, starting December 21.

Seasonal service between Chicago and St. Lucia, New York’s LaGuardia Airport and Bermuda, and Charlotte, North Carolina, and Grenada will also start on December 21.

The airline is also adding a second flight from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to two Costa Rican destinations, San Jose and Liberia, both starting December 18.
