WestJet Reaches Tentative Agreement with WestJet Encore Pilots Union
WestJet announced that it had reached an agreement with the pilots union representing WestJet Encore pilots.
The airline’s pilots first voted to unionize in 2017. The agreement is the first between the pilots union and the airline and will be presented to the members for ratification.
The airline’s 510 pilots are represented by the Airline Pilots Association, or ALPA.
“We are pleased we could reach an agreement and look forward to having our pilots vote on our first collectively bargained agreement,” said Captain Ryan Petrie, the chairman of the WestJet Encore Master Executive Council.
WestJet Encore is a Canadian regional airline owned by WestJet that commenced operations in 2013.
