United Airlines is inviting passengers and members of the public to vote to select two designs for special liveries that will adorn two Boeing 757s in the “Her Art Here” competition.

The liveries were designed by six women artists and voters are requested to select one livery for the East Coast and one for the West Coast of the United States. While the aircraft will be based on the two coasts, they will fly a variety of routes within the United States, an airline spokesman told Frequent Business Traveler.

The three finalists for the California 757 are Lila A., whose design “represents communication, union and connection symbolized by the hands, which soar above the skies amongst the native California trees”; Laci J., whose design is intended to depict underrepresented voices; and Tsungwei M., whose design is an expression of the wonders of nature and humanity, and she believes “art can create positive social change.”

For the East Coast, the three finalists for the New York/New Jersey 757 are Corinne A, whose design is a tribute to the two states; Pamela E.A., whose design is entitled “From NY to LA, into the world”; and Julie W., who draws inspiration from New York City and its skyline, which she sees as a beacon, a sign that she’s arrived home.

Those interested can see the liveries and vote here.
