Swoop Inaugurates Edmonton-London, Ontario, Service

DSC_0683WestJet’s ultra low-cost carrier Swoop announced the launch of service to London, Ontario, on Sunday.

The inaugural flight left Edmonton International Airport at 7:12 a.m. local time and arrived at London International Airport at 12:19 p.m. local time.

The Boeing 737-800 was greeted by a water cannon upon arrival and passengers were treated to a reception at the gate prior to departure.

Swoop plans to operate the new service on a daily basis. It also plans to introduce non-stop service from Edmonton to Abbotsford, British Columbia, and to Halifax, Nova Scotia, on May 24, 2019.

The ultra-low-cost carrier will introduce seven new routes over the coming two months.

Swoop operates non-stop service to 16 destinations in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
