DSC_0038 (1)The calendar may say spring but for parts of the United States, the weather outside looks like winter.

A major winter storm is heading to the Midwest and set to arrive Wednesday. The National Weather Service warns it could be a “potentially historic storm.”

Forecasters said that the storm will be whiteout conditions, heavy rain, and powerful winds to many locations.

The National Weather Service has posted blizzard warnings for the northern Plains with winter storm warnings in effect from the Continental Divide to the Great Lakes.

Expect hazardous driving conditions and significant flight delays and cancellations. Experts recommend not driving if blizzard conditions are forecast.
