Melt Shop to Open at New York’s John F. Kennedy and Pittsburgh Airports
Melt Shop, a purveyor of grill cheese and other melted sandwiches, announced plans to open restaurants at John F. Kennedy International and Pittsburgh International airports.
The company will operate both establishments in partnership with Skyport Hospitality, which has restaurants in multiple airports across the country.
“We’re excited to open our first two in New York and Pittsburgh later this year,” said Josh Morgan, the company’s chief operating officer. “Melt Shop is a perfect fit [for airports].”
Both restaurants are slated to open this year. The JFK restaurant will be located in Terminal 5. In addition, Melt Shop has plans to open five new restaurants this year and has 30 in the pipeline.
Melt Shop was founded in 2011 in New York City. It currently has 14 locations in New York, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Delaware, and New Jersey.
